Join us for 5 consecutive weeks of plant based gifts, sustainably packaged and ready for you to enjoy yourself or to gift forward.
Spoiler Alert: gifts listed below! If you prefer surprises, jump over here.
Week 1: Premium Amaryllis Bulb
These aren’t your standard little grocery store bulbs – we’ve got only the best big’uns for your holiday amaryllis. Save it for holiday gifting or plant it yourself for gorgeous lily-esque blooms in the dead of winter. Packaged in compostable materials, our easy-care potting instructions are included.
Week 2: Bud Vase with Mini Everlasting Bouquet
One of the main goals of Queensdale Flowers is to minimize the waste in the floral industry. In this case, we scored unused post-consumer test tubes from a company that couldn’t return their “mis-order”. Using off-cuts of wood, we created a base that makes the cutest plant propagation vase if you are a house plant person, bud vase for a stem or two cut from your own garden, or a vase for the mini everlasting bouquet custom made for this week’s gift. Our dried flowers are from our East York production spaces, meaning they have travelled the shortest distance possible to get you.
Week 3: Natural Vine Garland
Our appreciation for native plants just keeps on growing. In this case, we’ve tried something new with Virginia Creeper, the native vine that is the base for all of our wreaths. This week, you’ll receive a chain of tiny vine wreaths linked together. Use it on your tree, or string some twinkle lights through it and use it on a mantle or holiday table. Week 4: Dried Floral Ornament
Whether you are a person who changes your holiday decor yearly or saves decorations for memories, this ornament fits the bill. It’s 100% compostable so you can toss it guilt free, but if you save it, it will continue to look great for years and can remind you of your fun pre-holiday weekly gifts from a sustainable small local company.
Week 5: Fresh Cedar Wreath
Hang it on your front door or an indoor wall that needs a festive touch, or use it as a centrepiece on your holiday table with a candle in the middle. This wreath smells great and is just the right size to make an impact but not overwhelm. The simple design can stand as is or be adorned to match your decor, and again, can be tossed in the compost when you are done.
